In brief, an initiative for change begins with an analysis of the existing situation, followed by a formulation of what is to be accomplished by the change: the goal or vision. After that, the actual development work can begin. Ingelstam offers consulting services for all of the three steps.

Analysis

An analysis of the existing situation should be the first step in all initiative for change. To analyze means to pull apart and study in great detail, which is what I do. As a specialist/expert I help companies and organizations by giving my opinion about their activities. And since it is meaningless to analyze without putting the new insights into practice, I often take part in the development work that follows.

To plan is to guess. The challenge is to make guesses that are accurate over time. Reliable methods and ways of tackling problems enable both you and you organization to make well-founded guesses and increase the probability that they will come true.

Development

Some people experience change and development as something threatening. Others see it as something worthwhile in itself. Regardless of what you think, change is something you will always find yourself in the middle of. It goes on all the time and everywhere. I am often engaged to follow an organization throughout a developmental phase. My role is to keep the group together and make sure it strives toward the goal at a steady pace. New routines and ways of working are created along the way to better and more effectively reach the final destination.
