Analysis

An analysis of the existing situation should be the first step in all initiative for change. To analyze means to pull apart and study in great detail, which is what I do.

I help companies and organizations by giving my expert opinion about their activities. And since it is meaningless to analyze without putting the new insights into practice, I often take part in the development work that follows.

Learning through evaluation and follow-up

All organizations claim to want to learn from experience, but in practice it is difficult. Often there is a lack of time necessary for reflection and analysis. This is true even when the work consists of complex processes with goals that require time for their completion. Here I see myself as the facilitator. In dialogue with the parties concerned I create opportunities for the evaluation and follow-up necessary for the organization to learn from its experiences, move on and grow.

Overhauling old structures

I am often consulted to help an organization structure its work in a better way. Sometimes a new situation necessitates change. There might be a wish for more modern methods to better use existing competence, thereby making the workplace more attractive. Or there may simply be a feeling of working inefficiently.

Just as with people, an organization often has the solution within itself. What is needed is space for thought and reflection, as well as someone to exchange ideas with. All work is therefore done in close collaboration with the client, starting from the current situation. Together we create a new structure adapted to the strengths and weaknesses which have been identified.

I contribute with logic for the work process, asking the right questions and sharing my experience from similar processes in other organizations.

Advice as support

Advice is always included in the dialogue I conduct with my clients. Sometimes giving advice may be the only task I have in an assignment. Change involves tough choices that may create a need for someone to discuss thoughts and new ideas with. This measure of support can be all that is necessary for an otherwise competent project leader or group.
